Pop-Up Thinlits Birthday Card

I am in love with this Pop-Up for my birthday cards. I had this one pre-made until I decided who I wanted to use it for. My wonderful neighbor and friend turned 30 this month. I thought it was perfect. She loves giraffes so I just added to the card for a perfect fit. That’s what I love about having all my stuff in a room. I can create a card and then make it fit perfectly for the recipient when I need to. Not having to go to the store to add or adjust my cards is just an awesome feeling.

If you recall last Saturday Scene’s I shared a video on how to us the Pop-up Thinlits. If you missed the post you can check it out here.

Here is the card before I added to it to fit perfectly for her.

Inside of the Card with the Pop-Up Thinlits

Inside of the Card with the Pop-Up Thinlits This is the same thing I wanted to put in Rachel’s birthday card but did not succeed.

I added a saying that said “Who needs milk?” stamped on a piece of whisper white cardstock that was punched out with the note tag punch. I also punched another one out for me to write on. I put these on each side of the Pop Up and used a dauber to add a bit of color to the whisper white cardstock. I also added a small punch out with 30th stamped on it and placed it beside “Happy” part of the Pop Up. Unfortunately I did not remember to take a picture before I gave it to her. This happens a lot!! So you will have to use your imagination on the end product.

When I gave it to her I included a dozen Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies with Himalayan Sea Salt on top. She was a happy girl. I will soon have that recipe on my husbands blog Smidge of Delish. He is now running a food blog putting up his spin on some family recipes.  Check it out.

I have learned a trick with this particular set. When you go to put it inside the outer layer, only glue one side at a time. This helps for a perfect fit. Just fold it in half and put your adhesive on that side. Then put adhesive on the other side and fold over your scored outer layer.

For this card you will need:

Stamps/Cardstock

  • Zoobabies  Stamp Set
  • The Herd Stamp Set (Retired bu the Balloon Celebration would work here as well)
  • Happy Birthday Everyone Stamp Set
  • Birthday Boutique DSP
  • Pink Piroquette Cardstock
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Basic Black Cardstock

Tools/Inks

  • Soft Sky Classic Ink
  • Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink
  • Early Espresso Classic Ink
  • Banner Framelits
  • Pop-Up Thinlits
  • Note Tag Punch (for inside sentiment not shown)
  • Banner Punch (for 30th part of sentiment not shown)

This framelit set comes with another die that says “Hip Hip Hooray.” Which I do not have. That is the beauty of being great friends with my upline demonstrator Lori she wanted that saying and I wanted “Happy Birthday.” So we split the thinlit set.

So what do you think? Doesn’t this just make you want to Pop out all of your cards? I only wish Stampin’ Up! had more than these. I hope you enjoyed today’s post.
