Welcome to the NC Demo’s Blog Hop for August 2020. We are so happy to have you join us this month. You may have already been to Tracie’s blog. If you did, then you know that this month’s theme is all about Scenic Views. I had no trouble at all figuring out what I would do. I wanted to do a card with the Sending Sunshine set from Stampin’ Up! This particular set is so calming with the views you can come up with if you like beaches, that is. So I decided to combine mine with my other favorite Scene building set called Mountain Air. This came out better than I expected. Unfortunately, our black that we have with Stampin’ Up! did not give me the darkness that I so wanted in my image so I used the moment tuxedo ink and then colored on the Mountains with the Stampin’ Blends Basic Black markers. This made it have a shadow effect that I really liked. You can see my first version below. In that one, I used sponge daubers and lots of different ink colors to get to this point.
So I decided I was not so sure that I liked this one and went on to create another one. I decided to do a Slim Line card for that one and came up with the one you see below.
I like this one so much better for the scene aspect of the card. I do love the brightness of the colors of the other card though. I guess that means that I get to do another card. HAHA If I decide to do another one I will do a video of it as well. I can see this being done in so many ways with all the wonderful colors that we have with Stampin’ Up! It can be bright and bold or soft and subtle. I guess it depends on your mood.
I did finally add a sentiment to the front of my card and I used black embossing powder and heat set it. This made it much darker than the rest of the black on the image. I love it. Let me know what you think.
Thanks for letting me share my project with you today. I do hope I have inspired you to get creative today. Please stop at Tina Lesson. blog next. I am positive she will be just as inspiring.
