Kim and I had our Annual Launch Party and Customer Appreciation party in June. I thought I would share some snippets from the events. For my blog readers, I will give you instruction on how to make the cute little train that I used as decoration for the event.
When you order I like to give random gifts that I call “Happies,” so why not do it for the Annual Catalog Launch Party as well? I mean in all sincerity without you, my customers I would not be able to do what I love doing. So Kim and I decided to put together a small sample of new items from the catalog that we thought would be useful to any scrapper beginner or advanced. The goodie bag included:
Everyone had a bag with a coordinating chart of the new revamped colors for the catalog. When we called out your color you got to pick a door prize from the pile we had. A customer who reads my blog and answered a question on the blog. She was the first to get to pick because she read and answered the blog question correctly. So you never know when I will give you kudos for reading.
There were more colors but I only got a picture of the six here. For these bags, I used the Delicate Lace edgelits on the bottom of the bag. Then the Stitched Labels that were stamped with the coordinating color and the All stitched around stamp set. I tied them off with some retired Saleabration ribbon.
I believe the party was a huge success. Now on to the Train.
This little beauty I found on the Demonstrator facebook page. It is made with the Wood Crate framelits that carried over to the new catalog.
Instructions
- Cut 10 wood crate pieces (2 each for train cars and 6 for train engine) and then stamp them with the hardwood stamp in the coordinating ink. Assemble the 5 wood crates.
- For the engine attach the other three crates by putting one inside the other. The third will have the bottom partially cut out and put upside down around the long piece of the engine. I left about a half inch but you could leave a bit more on the bottom.
- Punch (4) 1-inch black wheels and (4) 1/4 inch circles of the same color paper as your wood crate for each train car and engine (total 12 of each size). Attach to the train cars/engine with shiny brads.
- Stamp and color 4 pigs from the This Little Piggy stamp set, and 4 of the rhinoceri and giraffes from the Animal Outing stamp set. Use the Animal Friends framelits to cut the rhinoceri and giraffes and fussy cut the pigs.
- Punch a small hole near the bottom of the train cars (1 hole in the last car, 2 holes in the middle car on opposite sides and 1 at the rear of the engine). Run the rope through holes and secure with knots. A small dab of glue at each knot and hole may provide extra stability when pulling the train.
- Attach the animals using your choice of adhesive. The train can be filled with bite-size candies.
