I know it is still Fall, but I am still wishing with the new Beautiful Blizzard bundle from Stampin’ Up! that cooler weather would show up. I grew up in Ohio and remember the Blizzard of 1978. The snow was piled all the way to the rooftops. My brothers made steps in the snow to the top of the roof and sled down the hill into the streets. It was a winter wonderland. I hated having to have us all sleep together to keep warm. My dad got stranded at work. I need oxygen as a child so they had a semi truck come and rescue us, taking us to Grandma’s house. It was the drive, my brothers Mike and John, my Mom, me and the dog Gertrude all in the front of this truck. My brothers loved it. Me not so much.
Here is a picture from the local paper.
I don’t want to go through that again, especially not as an adult. Yuck! I do still love to look at the snow. That is why I just am in love with the Beautiful Blizard bundle from Stampin’ Up! Check out this card that I made as a sample.
I used a few old elements on this card, but lots of new items from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. The card base is 5.5 x 8.25 inch folded in half in Seafoam Green. The second layer is Bermuda Bay embossed with Falling Snow folder 4x 5.25 inches. The third layer is from the Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper cut 3.75 x 5. I cut out whisper white with the smallest Stitched Seasons Famelits and stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Blizzard in Bermuda Bay. I ran the DSP through the big shot using the embossing mats to make the sentiment look like it was stitched in. I then took a piece of retired glimmer paper in Bermuda Bay and the white running them through the big shot with the Blizzard dies. This gave me all the random snowflakes for the card. Placing them randomly around for some glimmer.
Unfortunately, we have a few more weeks to wait for the cooler weather. I guess I will survive. It is just so HOT.
For this card, you will need the following: The glimmer paper I used is retired from the Magical and Myths suite.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card.
Happy Craftin’
