After taking the Beyond Basic Backgrounds class with Altenew, I was stunned at what I found. Things I would have generally not thought of—something I was pleasantly reminded of. I decided to stick with the Stencil Technique, at least. That is what I am calling it. I am sure there is another name for it. This is where you create your own stencil from the dies you already have, which for me is a game changer. This economy here in the states is not helping my crafting habit/hobby/business.
I created several of these cards. I used the Beautiful day Stamp set for one using the leaf stamp and die. I also used the newer Wavy Blooms stamp and dies set. I am pretty happy with the outcome of these cards.
The Cards
I did create a video for you, which you can see below. I will say before you watch the video, be prepared for it just to end… This was not intended, but I am not that great at video editing as of yet. I will get better, and it is a learning curve. So without having to redo it, I decided to go ahead and publish it. Click here if you are reading this email.
As you can see, your look depends on the embossing powder you use. I am in love with it.
Be on the lookout for another card from this class where we will do a watercolor resist technique that uses wax paper. I hope it comes out the way it is in my mind.
