I am amazed at what bleaching can do to your clothes but never really tried it on paper. I had been toying with trying it out when Celebrate Sunflower came out. So I was just playing around one afternoon when my husband kicked me out for his video classes. Much to my surprise, the color on the paper turned to a shade of purple. I thought to myself well, that is a game-changer. I had planned on something completely different to do, with different products. Well, that all changed. To me, the color closely resembles Purple Posey that you can not get the ink pad. The perfect way to use up some of this paper and show off this color. I love the color, but we can only get it in Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers, and cardstock.
I have several variations for you to check out. First, let me show you how it looks with clear embossing powder, then using the bleach to paint the sunflowers from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set.
Then I went with doing it in basic black embossing powder, which is a retired product now. That is crazy, I know. I used versamark and then the powder and heat set. I did this multiple times over the cardstock, measuring 5 x 4 inches. (this will give you two panels for two cards the way that I did then here.).
Here are the finished cards; they all the same except changing up the order of the items. Color and technique are the same.
I have attached a video for you to see how to do this technique. I can not wait to try it in other ways. It is fun to bring back older techniques that you may have forgotten about, just to see how they play out in a new light.
