The Butterfly Gala has been a hit with everyone. So much so that it was on backorder almost as soon as it came out in the Occasions catalog. It is finally back in stock and I finally got my hands on this set. Here is the first card that I did with it. I am so sad about the Lemon Lime Twist color from the 2017-2019 In Colors, they are retiring. This has left me wanting to use it more and more. I am afraid that it will cause me to want to order more. I really don’t need more but it is hard to say goodbye to some wonderful colors. So if you are in love with these colors like I am and can not stand to be without then I suggest you order while you can some items have already been depleted. Such as the bundle of ink pads for the 2019-2019 season. These are low inventory and once they are gone they will be gone.
On to the Butterfly Gala set. This set of beautiful butterflies makes me happy since it is a wonderful replacement for the Papillion Potpourri stamp set that retired a few years ago. It like the Papillion Potpourri set has a punch that matches it. The Butterfly gala allows you to color these several ways. There is always the coloring with blends, markers, and water coloring with the aqua painter. The Butterfly Gala stamp set also has a stamp that allows you to color the top and the bottom of the butterflies with a stamp as well. Which makes it to be a very versatile set. Also, the butterflies themselves the small and large one are attached to each other the same way you would punch them out with the Butterfly Gala Punch. This makes it so much easier to work with.
Now onto that wonderful Butterfly Gala card, I have created for you today.
Using a little of Delightfully Detailed Laser Paper I created this beauty. I have always loved the Circles on this paper. I am not sure what it is about them that I love but they seemed perfect for the butterflies to float around on. I cut this out using my Stampin ‘ Up! trimmer (which sadly this will also retire at the end of the current annual catalog. Insert Sad face here) I then decided that of course, Lemon Lime Twist would play a part in this Spring inspired card. Cutting it and embossing it with the Crackled embossing folder that is non-SU. I purchased it from Hobby Lobby I believe. I then stamped my butterflies onto some whisper white cardstock and colored them with my Stampin’ Blends and punched them out. I choose Bermuda Bay as the base for the card since it goes so well with the Lemon Lime Twist and the colors I choose for my butterflies in the Butterfly Gala set.
Here are a few up close pictures of the butterflies. You can see here how detailed they are.
Supplies which does not include the cracked background embossing folder. If you wanted to you could use the Crackle Paint background stamp from Stampin’ Up! Item # 148755
