I wanted to make some more Cards for Little Hearts, which is very near and dear to my heart charity. I also wanted to use up some retired Designer Series Paper called All my Love from Stampin’ Up!. This particular paper is still found on Etsy if you are in dire need of some. I do think the new heart DSP that Stampin’ Up has would be just as pretty. Check out the link for Cards for Little Hearts of you would like more information about helping. I love sending smiles to the kids there with congenital heart problems. I am a product of that situation. I can tell you from first-hand experience how lonely it is in a hospital when you are a kid. Of course, things have changed since the ’70s, and early 80’s about how children are cared for while in the hospital. A parent has to stay with them. Of course, back, when I was little, this was not necessary or required. Both my parents worked to keep insurance on me. I hope I can add a little smile to them even if it is a small one.
The Card
I was inspired to do this card by LollyPop Paper and Ink. The card is pretty simple in itself. The DSP steals the show here, though. To find a beautiful DSP and this one is in the bag.
- The base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 is Soft Sea Foam
- The DSP is cut 3 3/4 x 5
- Soft Sea Foam cut from the Stitched Rectangles (largest narrow opening) I cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick about an eighth larger placing it behind the soft sea foam rectangle.
- Cut the floating hearts from the Stitched Be Mine framelits in Lovely Lipstick. Place it atop the Soft Sea Foam with a few extra hearts from the die in it.
- Stamp with Lovely Lipstick and cut out the flowered heart from the Meant to Be stamp set on Soft Sea Foam use a dimensional to pop it up.
- For the sentiment, I used that from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. Again I stamped in Lovely Lipstick on Sea Foam. Using the rectangles from the Stitched Rectangles dies.
