I love the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. The large Sunflower is absolutely one of my all-time favorite flowers from Stampin’ Up! I also am in love with the colors used in the new autumn paper from Stampin’ Up!. I do not have any, but that is ok. I decided to use those colors for this week’s cards. They are as follows,
Watercolor Challange
Colors of GILDED AUTUMN SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER
I love how these colors go together they meld so well with the paper being on backorder at the moment, for me to actually get my hands on a pack of it pretty unlikely.
I tried my hands at water coloring the sunflower after watching a tutorial on how to do it with the cajun craze ink. I did not do so well. My early espresso and cajun craze ended up fading the stamped image almost completely in the center. So I went back to my tried and true Stampin’ Blends. I love coloring this image with the blends; they make it so easy. Check out the images below of the card. The sunflower I added wink of Stella and gilded gems for the WOW factor.
The Card
I saw on pintrest someone doing the dainty diamonds on an entire piece of foil paper; it looked so pretty and fancy. Doing the whole background would be too overpowering for my card. I want the Celebrate Sunflowers to be the star of the show.
