The Altenew Celebration: Stencil technique class gave me a run for my money. I knew how to use stencils with sprays and such, but I had no idea how to use them to make a very light background. That was pretty exciting to me until I tried it. I did not get a version that I was comfortable sharing. You know it is a process. Maybe someday I will. However, I like the idea of using stencils with my Gelli plate. Something I will have to try out.
My card for this class evolved into shimmer white embossing powder, which I thought I would leave white because I put it on a soft, soft seafoam green. However, the look of that did not go over very well with me. So I decided to play with blender brushes and see what else I could come up with; I wanted my leaves to be green, thus the soft green cardstock.
I also tried silver embossing paste on the soft green cardstock, but it was another no-go. So I finally settled with doing a Distressed Oxide Rustic Wilderness on top of my shimmer embossed image. That was the ticket. I loved it.
I used the Golden Days stamp set from Altenew. I love the stamp, but I want the stencil in the worst way, but it is unavailable now. I love the fact that the stamp leaves white space in your image. I added a touch of color to this was to using a bit of water on my water brush and blending the ink.
