Dashing Deer is another one of those sets that makes fabulous cards without much effort. Take this one in fact. I was looking for a way to get rid of some of the foil paper I got last year and well BAM here you go. A little bit more glimmer and a sweet fantastic card wishing someone a Merry Christmas. We also did this one at my stamp a stack last month. A card that looks like you spent lots of time on it. Tell me what you think of this in the comments and you may win some blog candy. Here is the card.
To create this one follow these simple steps
- Card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches scored at 4 1/4 inches folded in half that matches your DSP.
- Designer series paper (DSP) of your choice cut to 4 x 5 1/4.
- Ribbon to match your card base of DSP long enough to go across your DSP and wrap around it a bit. Tie this in a bow.
- A piece of cardstock matching your base cut at 4 x 1 inch
- A piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut 5 x 3/4 inch stamped with a sentiment in matching color of the base and punched with the triple banner punch on both ends. Adhere this to the piece measuring 4 x 1 inch
- Adhere the banner piece to the DSP and place the bow on the DSP and wrap it around. Place this on your scored base.
- Cut out your Deer from the framelits and use dimentionals to place on the center above the bow.
That’s it. A picture perfect card to hand out to those family members and friends that you may have forgotten to send a card to. I just love simple cards during the holidays. I don’t want to spend all of my time in the craft room…. well maybe I do. It is a great escape place for me to go when I need a minute. Everyone has a few of “those” moments I am sure.
Here is what I used to make this card. The DSP I used is the retired Springtime Foils Specialty Paper. The ribbon is also retired Cherry Cobbler Sheer Linen ribbon.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Let me know what you think.
Happy Craftin,
Amy
