Does your craft space seem to have an ever-evolving storage situation? Try living in a tiny house where storage is in limited supply. You can see my original post about Tiny house storage here. Well, we have been in the tiny house now for about 2 months even with the purchase of a console table at Hobby Lobby we needed to make some changes. We needed to do this because of my dogs. Yes, Gumbeaux and Monte’ have been feasting on my craft stash of cardstock.
This is only one of the pictures. They have eaten not only this but he ripped open my case from Thirty-One that I got to hold my paper. It looked like the one below but was monogrammed
I was so mad. He ripped it from the side not even unzipping it and pulling out a complete pack of Very Vanilla cardstock. This was the third time where craft paper was the culprit. He has even chewed up a Ranger Ink Inkssential 15 x 18 reusable craft sheet.
So after this attempt, the steam was coming out and the gloves were off. We started to leave them outside when we went to my daughter’s house. Unfortunately, when going anywhere during the day it has been too hot to leave them outside.
Ikea was a stop we needed to do for blinds. It was time to finally get rid of the paper shades my niece had given me. Well while we were there I was also looking for storage again to fix their expensive eating habit of my cardstock. I did happen to find a storage crate from Ikea very similar to the ones at Stamp and Storage have for your 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Instead of it being $134.25 it was $59.00 with two storage cases. Check it out here. This would set me for paper storage. My 12 x 12 paper already had a home.
However, my husband and daughter found this at Ikea we found it in a pine that was on sale for $149. Then topped it off with these beauties. Kallax inserts with doors to keep their little paws off my paper and supplies. Jazzed them up with some knobs from Hobby Lobby that are half off. So not only did I get new storage solutions my daughter got my old console table for her living room.
So now check out the storage that I have. It is a little crowded with storage but the place is still movable.
This is how it looks now. I have storage for everything. My cats even approve.
Below is the Crate that has two crates and LOTS of space. You can lay your 12 x 12 down in it but then you can not see it. So I elected to just put the 8 1/2 x 11 in one. The other contains stuff for the grandkids that they can get to if they want to craft.
Below is my 12 x 12 storage with my pre-cut cardstock.
On the other side is catalogs and books
We also still have the storage in place as before with the other IKEA file cabinet but we no longer are able to use the space under the counter unless everything is in a container such as plastic.
and the storage space above the bathroom. Some of these have come down but most are still up there as they are items I do not use too often. Fortunately, I have only had to go to storage twice for stamping related items. Whew
I hope this storage change is going to last for a while. So far in the last 2 weeks, we have not had any issues with things being pulled out and eaten.
I hope this finds you well and gives you some ideas on storage for yourself. It has been an adventure, to say the least.
