The For Guys class was a challenge for me. I am not good at masculine cards, and I do not generally buy gender-neutral or masculine stuff. So I decided to go with an Andy Warhol-type card. I also created another one combining Andy Warhol and Jim Dine combination. I am really please with how they came out. This class gave me so many other ideas to try. I can not wait to try them when my wrist is finally out of the cast. Unfortunately, it will go to a splint, and I am just hoping it will give me more flexibility than I have.
I started out with a standard A2 card and decided it needed to be more prominent since the coffee cups were almost the same size. So I finally settled on a square card base of 5 1/2 inches. Changing the size makes my colored squares 2 5/8 inches look much better.
The Jim Dine aspect I created by using watercolor paper. First, I stamped the image with permanent black ink and then colored it with alcohol markers. Once all this was dried, I sprayed the paper and dashed the paper with Brusho Crystal color. I love how the coffee cups turned out.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and continue to follow along in my cardmaking journey.
