Frosted Foliage was a perfect choice when my new Demonstrator friends here in North Carolina asked me to demonstrate how to do the Black Ice technique recently. If you missed how to do the Black Ice technique you read about that here.
I had lots of fun using Frosted Foliage this time and the new Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper. The first one I will show you is the Black Ice technique on the silver foil paper, and then the Feels Like Frost DSP behind it.
See below to see the beauty close up. If your reading via email you will need to check the blog post to view.
Night of Navy foil paper from the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets coordinated with this paper as well to give lots of wintery sparkle to my project. I even added at the last minute touch of Shimmery Crystal effects item #150892 in the corner of the card.
My second card was using a piece of the Feels like Frost DSP for the background. I also added stamps to the DSP and colored some of the berries in with the Night of Navy Blends. I did the black ice technique on the whole sheet of DSP giving it an icy feel. Just a simple sentiment and a mat behind it finish it off. I love the simplicity of this one. Mat is done with the Ornate Frames Dies Item #150664
Below a short video for you to see the beauty of the black ice close up. If your reading via email you will need to check the blog post to view.
The third card I did was with a leftover piece of the Feels Like Frost DSP. The beauty of this particular paper is that one side is a printed paper while the other is silver foil with patterns. I used the silver patterned side to create this card. I colored it in with the blends or your Stampin write markers as a simple resist technique. Then do your black ice technique over the entire leftover piece. I used sentiments for this card from one of the fabulous retired Saleabration items that I got during Salebration. These sentiments can not be beat.
Below is how it looks close up. If your reading via email you will need to check the blog post to view.
I had a few leftover pieces of whisper white cardstock that I had stamped with the falling snow from the Frosted Foliage set and used this inside of my card. I always leave my card blank as to be able to personalize them when I am picking them out for their recipient.
I really love the way these came out.
