Gather together and Stitched Lace Dies

Gather together and Stitched Lace Dies surprisingly go really well together. I decided to go with a fall feel for this card. Using several different colors of cardstock and interlocking them together. The Stitched Lace dies have two dies one for cutting up the piece into the pretty little stitched lace and then another to cut the edges to give it a finished look of lace. The Gather Together set has leaves and pumpkins. I have used the leaves and have been dying to do the baby wipe method for coloring them. I had a slight problem with wanting to stamp them with Gold. First I wanted to use my blends on the leaves, however, the blends cover up the embossing. They are alcohol-based so that was out. I went ahead and used the baby wipe technique for them. I stamped and embossed the larger leaves then pressed them into a baby wipe that had drops of color from my reinkers all over the wipe in several fall colors. Giving these larger leaves some sparkle and beautiful different color leaves. The smaller leaves are embossed when you die cut them. After I dipped them into the baby wipe it sort of expanded the paper so that the embossing was not there anymore. To fix this I just laid them back on their die-cut piece an ran it through one more time. You could also just color some paper and then cut out all of them at one time alleviating this step altogether. These two sets Gather Together and Stitched Lace Dies are my new favorite bundles.

I did this card for my daughter. She has been going through a hard time right now and I am so happy that we have moved here to support her. I am hoping this cheers her up.
