This started out with a picture I stumbled across on pintrest of course. Check out this pick.
This got me thinking how can I recreate this? I tried water coloring, sponging, and daubers to get this background. I did not succeed in what I was looking for. My watercolor was a runny blob mess. It actually turned purplish gray. Not what I was looking for. I have no patience for allowing things to dry. That is my problem. Watercolor takes time, I have it but I am too impatient to wait. That is a personal issue I am working on. Have been for 50 years. (haha) Sigh, I hope to get there someday. So I kept searching for other ways to get this accomplished because I just loved the background and I was not going to let that stop me from getting what I wanted.
I stumbled across this from a Demo named Tina. Her’s was a fall card with a totally different color scheme. Check out how to do it here or watch the video below.
I did not find any benefit to using the Pearls from Ranger on the Glossy Paper. The regular Whisper White paper has a bit of sparkle to it. You will be able to see it in the video.
I used the tree stamps from the Mountain Air to get my trees. I really wanted to wait until I got the In the Pines bundle to create this but like I said before I am an impatient girl. If I waiting I would forget about it. If I created the background and waited I would be dying inside with a project left on my desk. I know I can not win. Haha
I know it is early for Halloween cards but I wanted to get away from doing Christmas cards. Funny I just realized I used the same color palette for these as I have done my last few Christmas cards. The sentiment could be changed and you would have another beautiful card. I have a few friends who send out Halloween cards so this will be for them.
I did use some non-SU supplies I have them listed below. You will defiantly have to try this technique drys in no time flat and I believe it is stunning. What do you think? I would love comments and share. So please share and comment away.

Great card, Amy! Thank you for the reminder about the alcohol and reinkers! I totally forgot about this technique and have never tried it with Whisper White. Now I need to get all my work done so I can give it a try!

It is NEVER too early for Halloween cards, I usually start around August with the preorder. I love this scene and it’s been so long since I’ve done this technique but it’s so striking. Thanks for the reminder on an awesome project! I will be making some of these for sure!
