After the 60’s themed Scrap Fest this year I decided to take the material left over and use it to make Homemade Cat Toys. Let me just say my kitten is in heaven. It all started when my niece Ashley stayed over one night. She wanted to make some crafts and cards. So we decided on some Cat Toys for one of the crafts. My neighbor Brittany came over too. We had a seriouse assembly line going. I worked at the sewing machine while Ashley and Brittany stuffed the toys. While Brittany was stuffing with catnip she had Oliver my youngest kitten (he is 7 months) sat in her lap trying to play with the toys. It was so darn cute. We used the crunchy little balls that they sell for cats I had a big pack of them I keep for the occasion of a toy is lost forever under some obscure piece of furniture. So that had Eleanor my Main Coon kitty (she is a little over a year old) coming to check it out too. She however did not come in and check it out too much she sat waiting patiently. While Eva (she is my 2 year old) slept on the back of the Futon in the craft room sort of supervising. We made 7 of these toys.
I had a yard of material that my friend Lori made a sash for me. I took this sash and cut it up into 7 pieces. I sewed up the bottoms and we stuffed them with Catnip, pillow stuffing, and crunch ball toys. After it was stuffed to the top I sewed up the top. Oliver is now in heaven. I do alternate them in the catnip container so that they get that smell all the time.
Happy Kitties equals a happy home. (and happy plants, furniture, carpet and dogs)
Hope you make some of these for your little kitty snugglers, mine love them.
Don’t forget to check out the weekly deals. They change every Tuesday.
