The Impressive Heat Embossing class with Altenew gave me plenty of food for thought and crafty ideas. Heat Embossing is something I love to do with my sentiments. However, I never gave much thought to using it with other images such as flowers and layering the embossing powder colors. I have seen it done with several layers of the same powder for impressions but never this way. What a wonderful surprise this was for me. I did two techniques shown in the Impressive Heat Embossing class. Follow along with me to see which ones I used.
The Card
I created the card with supplies on hand. Some are retired products, but you can easily find some that work similarly. I placed those items on your supply list at the bottom of this post.
I am pleasantly surprised at how this came out. I started with vellum and the Golden Days stamp set (second layer stamp) and heat embossed it with white powder. Next, I used the third stamp and heat-embossed it with a rose gold embossing powder. The next stamp, the fourth one, was done with cherry cobbler powder from Stampin’ Up! (retired). I did the outline with a black embossing powder next. My final embossing powder was gold embossing powder for the center, adding a bit more dimension to the flower.
This is the first technique I used. This technique is so delicate and pretty that I am super excited and will defiantly have to try some other colors to do this again.
My second technique is with my background, which was done with the rose gold embossing powder and the Geo Triangles bundle. Using versamark as the ink, I used the stencil to place the versamark in certain spots on the embossed cardstock. Then sprinkle the embossing powder over it and heat it.
My sentiment is from the Ultimate Script Word die bundle. I used rose gold foil cardstock and three extra thick white die sentiments and layered them together to create the dimension you see here.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card as much as I enjoyed making it. Up next is the In the Mood for Color Class.

Fantastic layering on the flower. However, I would highly recommend creating your own or printing out a “rule of thirds grid” for placement of focal images/sentiments as it will help you a lot in achieving a balanced layout. Right now, your floral element is fine, but if you move your sentiment at least an inch upwards, it will look balanced. You will find more about layout and floral composition in Level 3 if you choose Jaycee’s class Floral Composition which I highly recommend to everyone.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will defiantly look into it. I did feel the balance was off a bit. I did not want to cover that beautiful flower.
