The Meant to Be Stamp set has every sentiment that I want to share with my honey. Of course so does the Well Said stamp set. I could not help but create a card for him using these sentiments from these two sets. My problem this year is finding a time to make his Valentine while he is not here. He loves to come and take a sneak at what I am doing while I am in my craft room. Shoot sometimes he decides to come and sit with me. We bought him a small movable desk that we want to take to the Tiny house for us to both use when we are there, he uses this in the craft room.
Back to the card at hand. I have been percolating on this idea for a while. As most of you know I follow Frenchie and saw a Pintrest post she had of a heart that uses the aged foil with the Geared up dies. I was in love with this but I, unfortunately, have not purchased this set yet so I just pinned it and went on with my search. I stumbled upon Mary Fish’s pin of a Rustic Charm masculine card she did last year. I loved this one because my husband has gotten into woodworking and it had all of those elements, but there was something about those geared hearts Frenchie did. So my card today is born of these two wonderful demonstrators designs. Check it out.
Of course now that I have it all together I see so many other things I would like to add or change. Haha, isn’t that the way it always is? We are our own worst critics. All in all I am pretty happy with it. I won’t get another chance to change it though. He is due home here in a little bit. I will need to have this all wrapped up before he comes back. I was even hoping that I would get a chance to do his birthday card that is in March. Of course Mr. Stampin with a heart is also a holiday St Patrick’s day!! Now that is a hard holiday. It is not looking like I will get the time to do that today. Oh well another day. Check out this close up of the card you can see all the different layers I have here.
I have layers of burlap ribbon, wood, and aged copper. I love it. If you have not seen how to do the aging technique check it out here. With this particular one you do not have to have the regular foil and embossing powder since I used copper foil paper here. I also used a non-Stampin’ Up! embossing folder for the gears here. In the supplies list I will include the All Geared Up die set which is what Frenchie used to emboss her heart in her card.
Supply List
Here is a picture of the inside where I used the new Stitched Rectangle framelits.
Is this not the best sentiments ever? I used a combination of the Well Said, Thoughtful Banners, and Meant to Be stamp sets. To get the Real Red wording I just used my Stampin’ Write Marker colored the words I wanted to color and stamped with the Stamparatus. Then I used Early Espresso stamp pad wiping off the spots that were already stamped. I think it came out wonderfully. Under the sentiments, I used one of the hearts that leaves a Stitched pattern and went randomly around the Crumb Cake before I placed the whisper white piece on top.
I do hope I have helped you be creative today. Please let me know what you think. Leave me a comment and you will be entered into a prize drawing this month.
