A wonderful play on the Vintage cards with the Mother of Pearl technique. Meant to be Vintage Valentine card is breathtaking. I saw Frenchie post on this technique via email and fell in love with it. I stared the email so I could go back to it later. Then came Wendi Lee who did this fabulous Valentine box card. Of course, I stared it as well for a later date. I was working on classes for this month and already had two cards completed for the class and wanted something else a little interactive. I was going to do some Penguins that I had seen from Split Coast Stampers but I did not star that email and could never find it again, Grrr. So the search went on… Then it hit me, you guessed it, it hit me when I was lying in bed reading trying to go to sleep. The imagination had it going on. I literally dreamed this bad boys colors up in my sleep. Then there was a problem with what colors I actually had in stock that I would not have to order. It didn’t matter much I had several colors to pick from. The Meant to be Vintage Card was born. Finally, at last card was dreamt up and now I just had to create it. Check it out.
I am in love with this card. Wendi Lee’s card was just splendid. I added some of her details and used her diagram on how to cut and score the paper. I also wanted to do a simpler one for the #cardsforlittlehearts that I will be sending valentines to this year. So I came up with a different version of that one as well. You can check out her blog here.
Frenchie always has something wonderful for you to check out on her site. So I went and watched this video on the Mother of Pearl technique and it was rather simple and a perfect solution to what to do with that Glossy Whisper White paper I had sitting around. Check out her Video Here.
This one does not have the “box” around it. I think it makes it a bit simpler for the kids and young adults that are undergoing treatments for heart defects. You will see the “LOVE” that I used here from the SunShine Wishes die set item #141489 . This was before I got my Well Said bundle which has a smaller “love” sentiment die. That is what we will use in class. It is what is also listed in the supply list.
