Today I am sharing a card made using the Moutain Air Stamp Set. Made by my guest designer Brenda Fertitta. She and I exchange pictures back and forth of cards we have designed. I have often tried to get her to do the webchat or video conference thing to craft together but she is not set up for that at home. So for now we do this.
She created a card off of a picture Sherry L. Brown sent her. See the picture below.
Living in very close to the Mountains now I love seeing what people are creating. It is so very relaxing in those big glorious mountains. I am close to the Blue Ridge Mountains. With a 20 minute or so drive I can be in the Foothills and another hour I can be deep into them. We went for a drive and lunch yesterday and decided to check out Blowing Rock, it was a Friday and boy was it crowded. I decided not to go and play too much in the crowds. We went to a nature trail and lunch then drove home on the BlueRidge Parkway, of course stopping on the way a bit to take in some nature.
The Cards
When I first saw this I was just sure she sent me a picture of the latest puzzle she completed or a painting she was trying out. Wait for it… she used the Mountain Air Stamp and the High Tide Stamp sets to create this. Spectacular.
- First, She uses Bristol smooth art paper, as the inks blend a bit easier.
- The Mountains were colored with Blends Smoky Slate and Gray Granite combo Alcohol Markers.
- This card, She used High Tide and of course, Mountain Air stamp sets
- The glitter is glittery tulle, which is adhered with spray adhesive.
Product List
- After embossing the trees on Bristol cardstock I heat embossed the star and sentiment with clear embossing powder.
- Next colored the trees with Garden Green.
- Then applied Night of Navy over the entire thing and wiped off the embossed areas.
- Next, put a piece of regular tulle over the card and applied a light dusting of spray adhesive, removed tulle, and sprinkled just a little white extra fine glitter.
- She also gave it a light dusting of glimmer mist.
Want to know what her blending tool of choice is? Sassy +Chic Contour Makeup Brushes from Dollar Tree. Amazing. Brenda also suggests when doing this to make sure your dab the ink off on scrap in a circular motion then back onto the paper in the same circular motion. I have been searching for a better way to blend and I just may have to try this. Thanks for the tip, Brenda.
