NC Demo’s Blog Hop- Blossoms in Bloom

Welcome to the NC Demo’s Blog Hop for July 2020. We are so happy to have you join us this month. You may have already been to Toni’s Blog. If you did, then you know that this month’s theme is all about Summer. I had a hard time figuring out what I would do. I wanted to do a card with the Sending Sunshine set from Stampin’ Up! but I could not get my mind wrapped around this set yet. (I have it pictured below)
So I did what is always a summer favorite of mine. FLOWERS!!  Who does not love flowers? The card I have for you today is all flowers in the paper in the background and the main image.
I have not played with my Ornate Suite much lately, so I pulled it out and incorporated the Blossoms in Bloom bundle. I love both of these sets. I love watching videos on what folks are doing with the Blossoms in bloom set. It fascinates me. There are so many things you can do with it. I know when I first got the set, I so did not see some of those things done with it. I did two different cards for you. Check them out below.
This one uses the Ornate 3d embossing folder and So Saffron cardstock in the background.

 

This one, I changed up a bit by adding the Parisian Flourish Embossing folder with Petal Pink Cardstock.

 

I used only one full image of the Blossoms in Bloom stamp, and die-cut images layered together and then cut them to create the two images on the front of these cards.

The base of the card is cut from Whisper White Thick cardstock. 11 x 4 1/4 inches, scored at 5 1/2 inches.

The next layer is 4 x 5 1/4 inches embossed with Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder and the Parisian Flourish Embossing folder.

The next two pieces are cut from the Ornate Layer dies, The Larger one is cut from Ornate Garden DSP, and the smaller one is cut from Old Olive cardstock.

The flowers are created in the layers below.

  • First Layer is stamped with Petal Pink ink.
  • Second Layer is cut out with So Saffron cardstock.
  • The third layer is cut out with Whisper White Cardstock.

I then added scraps of Terracotta Tile and Whisper White cardstock punching them with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Ink and Ribbon are Terracotta Tile in color.

I also added some gilded gems from the Ornate Garden Suite.

 

I am not sure if you can see it, but I did add some Frost White Shimmer paint that I added to my spritzer with alcohol. I added it to my Old Olive cardstock and my Terracotta Tile ribbon. Just a touch of sparkle.
