I needed a baby card for my newest Great Nephew born on July 27th. So I went with the stamp set from Stampin’ Up! A little wild one. I went to Pinterest trying to decide what to do with this stamp set. I had used it before just for some tags. I saw this post from Stampinhoot. I just couldn’t resist. I had to do it. I changed it up a bit, not much though. This is the cutest little card I have seen in a while for babies. I just love that you can put the backs of the critters on the card too.
This one is on a 6×6 card base. I Stamped and cut out all of the critters and letters with Shimmer Whitepaper. This was perfect for a bit of glimmer and perfect for water coloring. I did not have the Soft Suede paper and originally thought I did not have the letters too so I cut them out and painted them with the aqua painter and Soft Suede ink.
- Elephant painted with Smoky Slate and Petal Pin
- Bear painted with Soft Suede
- Behive and bees painted with Crushed Curry and Soft Suede
- Lion painted with Crushed Curry and Soft Suede
After I had every one colored and cut out I added them to the cardstock. I stamped the backs of them too and added them on the inside of the card. I wish I would have had the card open at the side instead of from the bottom.
The inside also includes baby Leo’s name. Stamped with Soft Suede on Shimmer Paper and cut out. I cut one base piece at 6×6 in Crushed Curry and one 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 in Early Espresso. The Very Vanilla cardstock is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The sentiments are stamped in Early Espresso as well.
I did not have any envelopes for this one so I created on with my Envelope punch board in so old retired DSP in Crushed Curry.
I just love how this came out. I do hope she decides to frame it.
A few things going on with Stampin’ Up! this month. There is the new limited time Blended Seasons set.
Once these beauties are gone they are gone for good!! I am sure the Watercolor Pencils will go first so hurry they have perfect fall colors. Like Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.
