Ornate Frame Dies are perfect for Halloween. I just love these. I can see them used for so many different things. For today’s project, I decided to do a Halloween card perfect for my grandkids. Everyone knows my love for cats. So I choose the creepy little crazy cats from Stampers Anonymous A Tim Holtz Collection.
Believe it or not, I started the background with a piece of crushed curry cardstock measuring 3 3/4 x 5. Placed a 1 3/4 circle cut of masking paper. I then sponged Gorgeous Grape all over the card paying close attention to the edges of the circle. It is possible to do this with a brayer but I could not find mine and I like the way it makes the background kind of spooky and foggy looking. Once the color was the way I wanted it I took off the masking paper and sponged the “moon” with Pumpkin pie and Cajun Craze. After this was complete I took the woodland embossing folder and colored the trees with the stamp pad and then ran through the big shot.
The rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory. I stamped all the images and colored them with the Stampin’ Blends and cut them out. Placing them on the background.
Then I attached the card front to a piece of Gorgeous Grape and then the black card base.
The Ornate Frame dies have lots of combinations that you can use to make a sentiment stand out. There is also a cute little matching stamp set that goes with it. I did not purchase it since I am not really a Halloween girl. One of my grandson’s birthday is in October so he is pretty hip on Halloween. So I will make them cards but that is about it.
I have used the Ornate frame dies on the front of the card and sponged the edges to match my background and then again on the inside as you can see below.
You can check out Stampers Anonymous’s stamps at several different craft stores or I have provided a few links for you to check them out online. I also have used an accessory pack to these crazy cats and dogs that have tons of little add ons. Hats, glasses, balloons, and more.
Simon Says sells them here
You can get them from Amazon as well here
I do not get a discount to either of the sites. I just wanted you to have some options on where to purchase if you wanted them.
