Thanksgiving now over, on to the Christmas season this year. I am going to start off with one of the cards that will be included in the Quite Curvy Card class. If you purchased the kit I will be sending you instructions on how to do this one.
A Stampin’ Up Demonstrator named Gail inspired these colors!. She does Blue Rose paper treasures (I am not sure of the name; I could be wrong here. ) I love her color choices on some of her cards.
I did this one for you first. In this one, I used some of the plush poinsettia specialty paper that goes with our poinsettia petals bundle. I love this vellum. It took the color of the soft seafoam green really well with the Stampin’ Blends. However, I did learn that using watercolor on top of it to color the flower itself did not work. It started to remove the velvet atop the vellum. I had to let it sit and dry completely before I could adhere it to the card.
Since this was a bust, I went to try it a different way. I created the very same background for you, with the Whisper White cardstock being sponged with Frost Shimmer paint and set to dry. I then cut it with the Curvy dies. The sentiment is stamped atop the Soft Seafoam green. I created the beautiful flower with the scan and cut since I have yet to purchase the Poinsettia Petals bundle. Once I cut out my flower in Very Vanilla and adhered it together with glue dots and dimentionals, I put a wink of Stella on the flower’s veins and then spritz the whole thing with the Frost Shimmer paint mixed with some alcohol. This flower is super stunning. If you would like to see how I created these flowers with my scan and cut, you can check out the link here and just switch the paper color to your choice.
If you do not have a scan and cut, you can recreate this flower by purchasing the dies from Stampin’ Up! It does just as fabulous job as the scan and cut and a bit quicker as well. I figure I have one, so I may as well use it.
