Welcome to NC Demos’s Blog hop. If you just came from Tina’s blog then you know it is all about movement this month. It could have been anything you like Spinner cards, Waterfall cards, Flip cards, or even Shaker cards. A shaker card is what I choose to do.
Here is the inspiration for my card today.
Doing this card allowed me to give some love to my Rooted in Nature stamp set which I rarely use and I have no idea why. I am so happy I did. These trees are just fantastic. I really need to pull this set out more.
The Cards
I used our blending brushes to create the darker background which I would have loved to get a bit darker but I do not find that using the blends go really dark without taking lots of time. Something I really did not want to do for live FB. It still looks pretty chilly in the cards. I have snow flying and all. I really love using the silica gel pieces that come in your purses, shoes, and any electronic products that you purchase. These are perfect for such a thing. They help keep the moisture from your card and are beautiful. You can color these if you like. I don’t think I would use water-based ink for them unless I was adding alcohol to it or using my blends. That way if for some reason during the shipping of your card if it got wet it would not ruin the project before the intended party had a chance to see all of that hard work.

Thanks for popping over Tina. It is such a great set I am not sure why I don’t use it more often.

I’m guilty too with using the Rooted in Nature. If we are not careful, it will be retired so need to put it to use!
Amy, love your card! I lived in Texas for over 20 years & never saw weather like they have had (thank goodness!)
