I look at the Sailing Home stamp set and the song “Come Sail Away” by Styx comes to my mind. “Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me.” Reminds me of the days with our sailboat. They were good ones but we never seemed to have the time to use it. So, we got rid of it.
Today’s card is all about those wonderful sunset sails. I miss those days sometimes. I am sure my hubby does since he isn’t working offshore on a subsea construction vessel anymore, and does not get to see the sunset or sunrise like he used to.
This card was sponged with saran wrap with ink refillers of Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, and Frost White shimmer paint. I did this all over a piece of wet shimmery white cardstock. Spraying it with water allowed the colors to spill into one another making this wonderful marbled background.
All the elements are stamped and cut out with the shimmer white card stock except the inside piece for writing. I stamped the sailboats lighthouse and the anchor in navy ink. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede and the rope on the inside is cut out with shimmer paper and sponged with soft suede. I must say I was really impressed with the realism of this rope.
Here is the supply list to make this project.
