I used the large Deco Framelit to complete this Santa Belly gift card holder. Isn’t he just adorable? Perfect for all of those gift cards you give away every year.
I only used a half sheet of cardstock to make him and scraps of black, white and a touch of silver. When you cut your cardstock cut it length wise at 4 1/4 by 8 1/2. Place them right below each other and then cut a third one out using the cut from the others.
To make the Buckle punch a 1 inch circle out put a dot in the middle of that circle and then use a strip of used cardstock (something that can be thrown out) put some adhesive on it and then punch a 3/4 in circle out of that 1 inch circle. You can do the same thing with squares but I don’t have any squares except the square framelits and the smallest of those was too large for this project.
I used a strip of black and white and placed them where I wanted on the Deco Framelits and cut them out with the big shot as well, this gave it a perfect fit. You can also fussy cut the pieces after you adhere them to the cardstock of the bottom layer. I then used 1/2 inch circle punch to punch out the buttons for Santa’s suit.
You can either score the top layer and adhere to the side of the bottom layer or you can do like I did here and use a brad to hold them together. The inside is embossed with whisper white embossing powder using Good Greetings stamp set that has been retired.
This particur pattern has so many possibilities. It is almost endless!! Have fun and enjoy!!
I do have good news from Stampin’ Up! they are going to bring back my favorite embossing folder Woodland Embossing Folder. It will be available in the 2016 Annual Catalog. So if you did not get it you will be able to get it next year!! Yea!! Stampin’ Up! listened. This particular folder was CONSTANTLY on back order. I don’t think I ever saw it not back ordered except when it first came out.
