The Color INKspiration #52 just made me think of spring. So I used the Sheltering Tree stamp set to create this simple card. The colors are Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, and Soft Sea Foam.
I started with a piece of whisper white cardstock cut 3 3/4 x 5 and stamped the tree trunk and branches in Early Espresso. I then stamped the “ground” stamp with second generation stamping in Early Espresso also. The ground stamp seemed to not stamp correctly for me but instead of trying to fix it I decided to leave it like this. I liked the shading so that it looked like bright spots. I then stamped the tree leaves in both colors of green so that they were just a bit off of each other so you can see both colors. I also stamped randomly with the “grass stamp” in all three colors. For the bottom, I used a bit of Soft Sea Foam ink on a sponge to fill in the under the “hill.” I stamped my sentiment in Early Espresso.
The second layer is in Early Espresso cut 4 x 5 1/4 and distressed with scissors because I seem to have lost my distressing tool. I then placed the whole thing on a Soft Sea Foam cardstock cut 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and folded in half.
That’s it. Simple and sweet. Check it out
