Stitched Label Dies have been one of my favorite sets since it came out last spring. In addition to that one, I am also in love with the old salebration stamp set Home to Roost. Well. Why not put the two together? I recently moved up to Statesville, NC. Therefore we are in the middle of the agricultural belt, so my themes have been around that. I have been trying to inspire myself to become one with the culture shock that I am now experiencing.
The Card
I have done this particular background on several previous cards. You can take a look at them here. The gold on the embossed images makes the tin tile stand out so dramatically. You can follow the steps in the previous blog post on this procedure to get the background here.
I used the stitched label dies most substantial die to put my Rooster on, then colored him in with some Stampin’ Blends. Masked him with some Stampers Mask from Amazon and stamped some Mossy Meadow grass around my Rooster. I am layering the Rooster a top of some ovals that were cut out and layer to make the oval seem more significant than it is. I also gave the Stitched Layer Die sponging with crumb cake ink. My sentiment was also cut out with the Stitched Layer Dies one of the smaller ones and stamped with a sentiment then also sponged with crumb cake ink. Using the sponging technique gives both pieces an antiqued look.
New News at Stampin With a Heart
I am so excited to be doing my first live video on Facebook tomorrow. This video will be a class to show you how to make a “buckle card.” I will be doing these Monthly for now. Hoping to progress to do this weekly.
