The Spirited Snowmen fits me perfectly. I love snow, snowmen and just about anything else to do with either. So when I told my spouse about the set and its sentiment says “love never melts” he told me to go ahead and buy it and use it for our Christmas cards. I was not going to, BUT… well I got it with my flex points. One of the wonderful benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I have played with these little guys for several days now and I just can not make up my mind on what to do. So for now while I figure out what mine will be I will share some of what I have created with you today.
The first one I created out of some scrap paper that was in the Dashing along DSP that was in a promotion. A simple card with just pieces left over from another to create the framework for this one, I watercolored and used Stampin Write markers to color the hat and scarf. Just placing him on the card just makes it fun.
The second one does not have a sentiment on it as of yet. I haven’t decided if I am going to send it to the Children at #cardsforlittlehearts. Again this one is created from some scrap pieces of paper with the One Sheet Wonder that I did. Gives the card a little fun. I added a “Christmas” tree from the Winter Woods stamp set and cut it out with one of the dies so that I could let it have some dimension. I also added the shimmer paint to the pop outs.
Here is the third one my classes favorite. I used the Snow is glistening stamp set for the snow on top with the hinge technique. I also cut out trees from he Winter woods die cuts placing them darkest to lightest as if they were distant. You can not tell from this picture but the snowmen are cut out and popped up so that the trees are even more in the distance. The vellum is a retired piece I had left over and it works perfectly here.
I also did one that looks like he is skating on a pond. I used the clear drying fine tip glue for this. You can get the same effect with liquid glass effects which you can get at your local hobby store. Stampin’ Up! no longer sells this. I did not include a picture here because I felt it was not good enough, even though all of those who have seen it love it. I plan to do another one and will post that one when I do it.
I hope you liked today’s cards. I will list items that are still available to purchase. The Designer Paper Dashing Along I used here is no longer available nor is the vellum.
