Tidings all around bundle was very hard for me to come up with some ideas. I did not want to do the traditional wreath colors, you know green and red. After I saw Stamp and Lingers I got inspired by using the Vellum for part of the wreath. Check their post here for my inspiration from Stamp and Lingers using the Tidings all around set.
Wanting to incorporate the basic patterned decorative mask with the birch trees in the background was a must for this project. I added a bit of soft suede reinker into the embossing paste to give it some color. My paste was a bit thick and chunky. That is what happens when you do not use it that often. Deciding to leave it a bit chunky to give variations on the color of the trees would be kinda cool. Here is my take on the card using the “chunky” embossing paste.
To color the wreath from the Tidings All Around stamp set in the background, I used Stampin’ Write Markers in the colors of Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, and Rich Razzleberry coloring in different spots until the whole wreath was covered. This sounds really weird but, huff on the stamp with your breath. Then stamp the image and cut it out. Huffing will keep the ink from completely drying so that you get a better smoother image. I did use my stamparatus so if there was a problem I could just repeat if necessary.
Having leaves with the sentiment and copper flourishes gave this card the final touch.
