Have you ever seen the old TIn Tiles in the old houses on the ceiling? Take a look at the Tin TIle on the walls as a backsplash. I just love it. It is such an old world style. Stampin’ Up! came out with one in the 2018 Holiday Catalog. I am so looking forward to all the ways I can use this simple embossing folder to create wonderful projects.
I cased the Holiday catalog just a bit by using elements on page 27 to create today’s card. I used the tag with the Winter Woods dies and stamps along with the First Frost Designer Series Paper. Check it out.
I started out with the Winter Woods stamp set stamping the evergreen tree twice in Sahara Sand on Whisper White. I then took the Dies and cut them both out and using the die that puts the dimension into the card on one of the two. I then layered them together. I stamped Thank you from Do What you Love stamp set on Granny Apple Green paper with Versa Mark and used copper embossing powder. I took a piece of First Frost DSP to cut it 2.5 x 3 in. I trimmed the top to come to a point. Glued the tree onto it and used a bit of Merry Merlot and Copper ribbon at the top so it looked like a simple tag for a gift. I used dimentionals on the Thank you. Now the fun part, not that that wasn’t fun in the least, I took a piece of Very Vanilla 5.25 x 4 in and ran it through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing folder. I also ran a piece of copper foil paper through as well measuring 1.5 x 4 inches. The Very Vanilla piece I took a sponge dauber and rubbed some soft suede ink onto the cardstock. This allows you to see the wonderful detail in the embossed image. I also focused the dauber on the edges of the cardstock to give it a weathered appearance. There is more fun to be had. I could not leave the copper piece without some extra attention too. I rubbed black stazon over this one also giving it a bit of a weathered appearance. I layered the copper on the bottom of the very vanilla and then added my tag. Placing this on top of the Soft Suede cardstock base. 8.5 x 5.5 inches.
There are lots of ways to use this folder. The ideas are just swimming in my head. I will take me back to one of my favorite ideas with the dry embossing and wet embossing techniques that I have done for a very very aged look. Click here for a blog post on a few others I did with that technique.
I used the new Merry Merlot and Copper Ribbon on this card as well. I love the look of it. Here is a closer look at the ribbon. It looks shimmery with a bit of copper and then the other side is just Merry Merlot. It is a perfect addition to the card.
Here is a list of what you will need to create this card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post.
Happy Craftin’
