I wanted to make some cards using the new Waves of the Ocean DSP. This paper is the paper that inspired me to set my sights on branching out from Stampin’ Up! If you saw my post last week, I shared a quick video of how they made the pour paintings that inspired the paper. It is stunning. I can not wait to do more of the pour painting!!
I created the first card with just a bit of the beautiful paper and waves galore using the bark 3D embossing folder and blending a bit of Pool Party ink on the bottom. I have seen this card done by Cheri’s Cards; she uses the stamp from the coordination Waves of Inspiration. I prefer to use the one I already owned from the Sailing Home stamp set. My sentiment is from TImeless Tulips, and I used the die from In the Meadow dies.
The second card I wanted to do also with the Waves of the Ocean DSP is to support Ukraine. The national flower is the sunflower, and the colors I choose here are daffodil delight and pacific point. I still have not decided on a sentiment. I am unsure if I have one that will be appropriate to stamp. So I will print one on my printer.
I decided it needed a little bit more and added just a touch of Tombow glue and allowed it to dry and rubbed gold gilding all around it so it would attach to the sticky spots.
I am pretty happy with how it came out.
In other Stampin’ Up! NEWS
There is a huge sale going on. The promotion is Saving in Bloom. What does this mean?? Yes, there is a SALE going on. Something Stampin’ Up! does NOT do very often.
20% off Selected bundles, and the most impressive is the Mini Cut, and Emboss machine is in the sale.
You can get it for $48 instead of $60. If I did not own one, it would be something I would consider getting. I love that when you go to a crop, it is ALOT smaller and more portable. The only drawback is that if you do a lot of embossing folders, it may not do well for you.
I will still be placing orders for folks till the end of March.
Happy Craftin’
Amy
